Job Description

Boulder Chinese Evangelical Free Church is looking for a part time Children Minister to serve our children’s ministry.

Qualifications

·       The candidate must agree with the Christian belief and value set forth in the BCEFC Constitution. (Our Belief can be found at http://www.bcefc.org/about-us/beliefs/)

·       The Candidate shall possess a high level of spiritual, emotional, and mental maturity and stability.

·       The candidate has shown a genuine love and care for children as well as the interest in their development and growth in the Christian life.

·       The candidate has as ministered to children in ways applicable to their various stages of child development.

·       The candidate has demonstrated leadership guidance to develop and to train children ministry teachers and core leaders.

Preferred Experience

·       Coordinate and oversee all Children’s special programs, including but not limited to: programs during guest speaker visit, Vacation Bible School, Summer Camps and other events.

·       Recruit leaders, teachers and helpers for all children’s programs.

·       Maintain a strategy for reaching and assimilating new children and families.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

·       Plan and lead Children (Preschool to 5th grade) Sunday School and junior kids (4-5th grade) Sunday worship session.

·       Cultivate and execute fun, age-appropriate programming for children to learn and grow in the context of fulfilling the church vision and mission; review and ensure the Children Sunday School teaching materials are appropriate and taught effectively.

·       Plan and coordinate regular programs of training for all children’s ministry coworkers.

·       Be available to counsel and pray with children regarding spiritual matters.

·       Communicate and align the vision for children’s ministry to the church’s; communicate with parents and provide parenting advice based on Biblical values.

·       Work with the youth pastor to transition children to youth programs.

·       Apply and implement standards to ensure children’s safety and to meet requirements of the law.

Working Hours

After the church resumes the on-site gathering Worship and Sunday School, the expected work hours are 12-16 hours per week, based on 4 hours of Sunday ministry and 8-12 hours of preparation, training, coordination, and etc.
